    Nice write up. I really hope Nokia fixes this slider issue because its really annoying. I’ve heard some people even bringing their N85’s to a service center only to hear the employees at Nokia service center say that the wobbling slider is normal! I actually felt pretty sad when my n85 came in and i found out that the slider wobbled because I really like this phone. Going to exchange it to see if theres possibly one in the bunch that doesn’t out of all the N85-3’s being sold here, where I am in the States.

    Nice overview and comparison. Seems that this initial batch of the N85 has a lot of manufacturing issues. I wonder if there will be a re-release of it which solves these issues (something similar to what the E90 experienced).

    Looks like a solid model overall from the software side. Though, in terms of being able to take and bend reality a bit, it seems nothing more than a refresh of the N95. I’ve just not seen reviewers taking it for a hard run.

    Read this disadvabtages from GSMarena:
    * No office document editing out of the box
    * Not the best sunlight legibility
    * Unconvincing camera performance
    * Poor Navi wheel performance
    * Zooming in on a picture takes bloody ages

    does really zooming a pic hangs up and takes that long?

    my mom is to get me an n85, and im thinking twice now if this is what i like because of the disadvantages i read..

    I bought an N85 a week back.

    Advantages:
    1. Low price for what you get on a single device
    2. FM transmitter
    3. Satellite Radio – works very well over WiFi and easy to use
    4. Good GPS – may need to buy additional licenses for maps and guidance
    5. Very good quality screen. Virtually no distortion while veiwing even high speed action video stored on the device or via streaming if on Wifi.
    6. Good battery life for the features you get
    7. Comes with 8GB memory card out of the box – sufficient for most people

    Disadvantage:
    1. D-Pad not very comfortable to use. The buttons need to be hit two times in most cases.
    2. Camera image processing standard is quite low even though it comes with a good lens and high MP.

    the slide problem can be taken out of the question ; i had a few sliders before and it’s normal for them to loosen up as time passes actualy i never heard of a slider phone not having this issue
