Spb Software just released an application called Spq TV. Spb TV is a highly usable IP-TV solution, optimized to run on S60 devices such as the 5800 XpressMusic, E63 , N95 and more. Spb TV provides users with lots of channels in multiple languages with easy-to-use features and settings. This software costs $14.95 but is also available as a trial version offering you a limited amount of channels. The full version offers more than 100 TV channels around the world. The spectrum of language and TV channels is really big. From English, German, Russian, Spanish to sport, news, whether, cartoon, religion it almost offers everything. The channels run smoothly on WiFI and 3G connection. However, if you don’t have a data plan you shouldn’t use this application via 3G or EDGE as this charge your phone bill excessively

There are two main views – TV Guide and Channel view. In both views you can browse through the channels easily. TV guide is offering you a overview of today’s full day guide, current week guide and also allows you to save shows in you calendar. The channel view gives you a small thumbnail of the TV-show as well as a short description of the channel or a overview of the current and upcoming shows.

The image quality isn’t high quality but for watching on a 2.4”- 3,2” display it’s okay.

You have four controls when looking TV. You can change the backlight as well as the volume. More over you can switch the channels and see a picture-in-picture mode. Of couse you can switch back to the menu.

As already mentioned there are more than 100 channels from around the world. However, just a few channels are worth watching for me. There are about seven German TV channels from which only two are good and prominent TV-channels. However, the first, ZDF, says, that there is no live-stream available and the second channel, n-tv, doesn’t stream everything. I’d love to see more high quality channels instead of rubbish local channels.
You can customize the channel list and pick the channels you want to see and these you wouldn’t. I would pick just 5-15 channels. However, for people coming from the US there are a bunch of TV channels available.

All in all Sqb TV is a handy and useful application for everybody who like watching TV on the go. However, before buying the application you should make sure checking all available TV-channels here. Also bear in mind that this application cots about $15. I personally wouldn’t buy this application as my favorite channels aren’t available. Head over for more information or for purchasing this application.
