SmartTouch: PC Remote Control for Nokia 5800 and N97 now updated

I install the python file, it says do you want to continue without Python Runtime? I press YES. Then Install the smartouch app. both in phone memory. But when i open the app, an error occurs, Unable to ….. I also tried the file withoutPIPS. no chance…!!!! help love this appp

just tried that two times before writing the comment. it says UNABLE MANDATORY PYTHON RUNTIME,,, somethin like that.

ok, now its working, but now nothings happening on my PC. I tried to run the server file, i can see it on the tasbar, but nothing happening with the mobile. I have set the default connection as my pcs name.

Hey all, I just tried it and it’s working, I was waiting for this program a while now.
anyways, you don’t have to install python and the application in your phone memory, but remember a thing that wherever you install Python, you’ll have to install the application there as well. meaning if python is on your phone mem then the app must be on the phone mem as well and if python is on your memory card then the app must be on your mem card.
remember to set your PC’s bluetooth device to be to allow discovery of other devices (from your PC’s bluetooth’s settings)

Tried to reinstall it 3 times already, still not working.

i hv same problem as ag it says python runtime on installed continue to install. I have installed python runtime but it still fails to find. i hv tried 5 times already no luck.

the app is working.however i cannot control the volume and mouse properly.when i want to increase or decrease it a little, it increases or decreases to the maximum!!!also wen cursor stops onan icon it automatically clicks it. seems that the cursor is always clicking..any1got this prob??tried un installin and re installing, prob remains.

python for 3rd and 5th edition 1.9.5 beta :

Hey, I’m having the same issues as AG. I’ve reinstalled it a few times now and it still doesn’t work. I have installed the latest version of Python for v5 and still nada. Pls help!

i also have a problem with this application i really like this application but i couldn’t open it on my mobile. i installed the python 1.9.5 on the phone memory then installed the application also on the phone memory and when i try to open it it opens the application update then stops working and when i click exit it says (Update Mandatory for Python Runtime and its components. Rerun the update application ) so plz anyone help me.
note: my phone is running on the latest firmware

the program seems to work but the pc-client not.
every time i try to run the “SmartTouch.exe” i getting this message:
— SmartTouch error!!!!!! bluetooth not found!!!!! —-
the bluetooth in my pc seems to work fine also and it recognises the device
and allow it to enter the program.
please if any of you have an idea ?

Like “ido” I have the SAME PROBLEM , The app seems fine on my phone, it starts and says it connects with my pc, but when I try to run the pc server for smart touch it states smart touch error bluetooth could not be found. if i try to start it before or after my bluetooth server it says the same. any clues please ? It looks perfect to operate my jukebox pc.

Does the app need to be run on vista as I´m trying it on XP

Install both Python and smart touch on phones memory, NOT on memory card.

Can anyone get this to work with the N97?. i can connect to bluetooth fine and launch the app but i cant use any of the buttons.

I managed to install and run the application on the PC. When it comes to the phone; it would not and guess what; I get an error message saying that the python application is trying to get the list of the latest dialed numbers. Is this some sort of trojan horse trying to get information from my phone?

My program runs but in python it says your screen must be full,normal,larg i tried everything.

Until phone reboot I got the message “update Mandatory for Python Runtime and its components. Rerun the update application”. After reboot this didn’t show again.

Also waiting for a solution to the same problem as Greg… DESPERATE to try the app, have had NO python issues, only this [TypeError: invalid screen mode: must be one of normal, large, full]
need a fix asap

it WORKS from the word GO! and its simple and more features for applications.
Although it lacks the touch mouse feature. you have to move the mouse using soft navigation keys on the touch screen of the 5800.

this app has failed to start because MSVCR71.dll was not found……..what should i do???

Had problems at first when trying to install software.

But then I installed the python 1.9.5 (insted of the 1.9.6) on phone memory c:
Then I insalled smart touch 0.4.1 also on phone memory c:

app works now fine!!

I found out what the problem is!

You have to install it all on the local C: Drive!

Any chance that this works with Nokia 5530?

Hey, everything works fine now, when i installed it in the right order and place

BUT! The mouse function could need some improvement. Like it seems it’s clicking constantly. And adding some more buttons to keyboard controll woulden’t do anything Also a full keyboard wouldent be so bad

It worked the first time.
Then I closed mobile app. Then I reopened it. It said “Unable to connect”when I chose my Laptop bluetooth. I thought it was a problem.
But after this I closed PC server and restarted server.Then
I was able to reconnect!!

So for a successful connection I have to restart both mobile app and laptop server other wise it doesnt connect. BUGGY PROGRAMMING!!!!!Developers please rewrite the apps and remove the flaw.
Secondly, bad programming here-> when u move the mouse cursor and stop the movement, the cursor clicks whatever is below it. THIS IS VERY ANNOYING!!!!!!
Please recode it to this feature (and add the DOUBLE TAP feature if possible).I know u can always provide onscreen buttons for clicking purpose. And I also know that IT IS EASY FOR YOU TO ENHANCE THE APP.

By the way for those with python problems try this runtime(link below).Its v1.45beta but it works. Previously I had another downloaded v1.45 from some other site, and Smartouch didnt work with it. Who cares? Now I have the right ver. so download, install, then run smtouch and have fun (pls uninstall any installed python before installing this one)
