5530 main Nokia 5530 XpressMusic unveiled

Out of the blue Nokia announced the new Nokia 5530 XpressMusic, a candybar touch screen device. Like the 5800 XpressMusic it runs on S60 5th Edition, features a 3.2 megapixel camera with LED flash. The front is dominated by the 2.9” touch-screen which displays the Contacts carousel – it lists your 20 top contacts with their thumbnail image and conversation history. The music focused device has a proper 3.5mm audio jack, FM radio and comes with a 4GB from Q3 2009 at a price point of 200€. Unfortunately the 5530 doesn’t feature 3G neither GPS.

    It looks much better than the 5800, too bad it’s actually lower-tech! Nokia, please make the next S60 5th edition phone with the same features as 5800 but styled like 5530 with 5MP camera and loads of accessories! The N97 is cool, but I hate the slide out QWERTY!

    Video recording is 176×220 at 15fps as stated at nokia website, so which one is correct?

    Nokia site has stated the video recording capability as 176 by 220 at 15fps.. So most probably this is the true one,but why is this so? Same camera, same RAM, higher CPU speed..then why lower video recording capability than 5800???

    I have the nokia 5530 and this detail is wrong. The camera records videos at 640 x 352 . with a video bit rate of 2796kb/s . It seems good to me.

    The processor is not as good as I thought, but the symbian OS might be the reason for the slow screen display at some functions.
