I can’t find any review or youtube video which actually shows the smooth rotation transmission effects of the home screen widgets (like in the tv-ads)… does it really exist? is it smooth at all if yes?

@ninjafox I don’t think any such thing exists. I have looked everywhere on the phone and have not found such an option. If it does exist (as suggested by this review) I would be very grateful if Symbian World could point me in the right direction.

I’ve found a video on youtube now showing the effect… but it does look a bit different..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vpz7TQiSRks @ 45-55 secs…. the whole screen is rotating… doesn’t look as nice as in the video but at least it seems to be smooth

Had this phone really been announced at the MWC in 2008? I think it wasn’t MWC 2008. It was end of 2008 in “Nokia World” maybe, and MWC 2009. Hilf mir mal weiter bitte

Why is the keyboard show on picture QWERTZ, not QWERTY?

  8. Todd says:

Worst phone I’ve ever owned. Overly complex interface, extremely dated apps — especially email and messengers. Mediocre keyboard, okay screen. Nokia needs to be schooled by Apple on how a user interacts across tasks. This phone is just a real dog.

Mine will be up on eBay this afternoon at 50% off.

Is this really the best that Nokia can offer? I can see market share slipping fast.

  9. matt says:

I disagree todd. This phone isnt complex at all an idiot can figure out how to use a phone as the options are all laid out how can you be misguided???. As for mediocre keyboard again wrong its one of the best! the buttons are spaced out nicely an it works perfectly for guy hands unlike other cells keyboards thats are squished together making it tough for male hands.

Iphone is dated an needs more functionality what it does it does well but i like phones with tech an power an nokia offers that.

    @NOX

I had the German version. Other than the rest of the world we German do have a QWERTZ-keyboard.

  11. David says:

I believe this is a great phone. I own one and had real fun using it. The interface is easy to use, too bad N-gage is not out for the phone yet. The accelerometer is perfect and the touch-screen response is good. It is true that soemtimes it stops responding, but I believe that it is better than the Iphone.

  12. [...] I tested the transfer speed of a 100MB folder containing mp3 files, photos and documents using the USB cable, and the folder took just 52 seconds to transfer across. I then transferred the same folder over to my N95 8GB which took 2 minutes and 57 seconds. This shows us that the speed of data transfer has been significantly increased, so much so that we can see a decrease in transfer time by over 70%, which is a staggering improvement. The transfer time on the N86 also beats that of the N97, which recorded a time just over a minute and a half. [...]

  13. I really love the n97 mini. Although not much smaller then the version on this review it does make a big difference when sliding in to my pocket.

Shame I cant seem to find stratch protectors for my phone.

  14. Jaunty says:

Has anyone found a way to do CTRL+C, CTRL+X & CTRL+V without a CTRL key?
On the Nokia E61 & E71 (which had CTRL keys) I had before my N97 all of these were very useful to make copies of strings of data between applications, and worked perfectly. I keep feeling it must be in there somewhere, but I am blowed if I can find it.

Otherwise, I find the N97 a really useful tool, and Nokia MAPS navigation is free now.
