Nokia 5800 XpressMusic updated to V.31.008

The 5800 XpressMusic has a new and fresh firmware version. V31.008 is available for most product codes and via the NSU or over the air. Fortunately the 5800 XpressMusic features User Data Preservation, so there is no actual need for an update. However, V.31.008 is not a huge update so that a mayor update can expect in some months.

Allaboutsymbian reports following changes:

  • updates Nokia Maps to Ovi Maps 3.1
  • updated Ovi Store client to v1.05(231)
  • ‘performance improvements’ (more RAM, optimisations)

    there is still no update for NAM version and i am really gettin sick of nokia’s stupid mind games when it comes to the 5800 which they can do so much with (kinetic scrollin, improved speed, better homescreen…) but jus choose not to (added by Mobile using Mippin)

    I updated to V31, got some alarm clock issue; I was actually late for work the day after I upgraded; alarm didn’t work, when i unlock my phone then alarm came on; had to do a hard reset; seems ok now, so far, but I don’t see my homescreen contacts; just basic and shortcut bar; I have not tested the maps; looks the same to me though…going to do more testing

    Whenever I select Music player, “Searching for Music and podcasts” automatically starts and hence I’m not able to play any music.

    How Can I stop this ??
