As some of you are probably aware, I currently use the Nokia E71 and its slim design is one of the key aspects that’s kept me clutching on to it. Recently I’ve been searching for a decent case to protect my device but have been worried that it may add too much bulk and therefore ruin the aesthetics of the device. I looked at quite a few but one that caught my eye was the OtterBox Commuter Series for the Nokia E71. Now although it’s quite rugged for my needs, I thought it was pretty cool and thought I’d give it a mention. Check out my thoughts after the break…

The Otterbox Commuter Series case for the Nokia E71 offers the best of both worlds; incorporating elements from the rugged Defender Series line and the Impact Series line to create a slick case designed with style in mind. Its protection without the bulk.The case is made of up of three layers. First a screen protector to protected the display from any scratches. Then a silicone rubber case wraps around the device, with the inner coring on the corners offering added bump and shock protection. Finally there is a hardened plastic outer case which holds everything into place and gives the E71 its solidity back. All buttons are fully functional through the case and silicone plugs provide access to the audio jack and charging port, which is great as this case will mainly be used when operating in rugged environments. The smooth outer layer gives it a nice feel in the hands, and allows the case to easily slide into and out of your pockets too. The OtterBox Commuter Case weighs in at 0.79 oz so you’ll hardly notice the difference.
