Samsung I8910 HD to receive new firmware with kinetic scrolling in the new year

Samsung today announced that a new firmware update is due to hit the Samsung I8910 HD (OMNIAHD, GT-I8910), to improve the speed of multimedia performance and to add new functionalities to the device. The new firmware will update the Webkit – increasing the speed of the user-interface when online. An improved graphic engine will increase the speed to access multimedia content, and kinetic scrolling will also be introduced to provide a superior touch experience. The new firmware update will be available from January 2010 in the UK and will gradually roll out to other European markets, Southeast Asia, the Middle East Asia, Africa and rest of the world.
