Symbian^3 – S^3 – is the first entirely open source release following the platforms transition to an open source license on February 4th, 2010. Symbian^3 brings with it some key features yearned for by Nokia users for sometime now; multi-touch with support for pinch and zoom, single tap throughout the UI and more intuitive multi-tasking. S^3 will also include support for HDMI, so users can plug their device into a TV and watch a 1080p movie. The new graphics architecture will use hardware acceleration to offer users a much improved user interface and the new homescreen supports multiple pages for widgets, enabling the user to just flick between each one. Check out the video demonstration after the jump.
