Samsung’s cheap N95 imitation
Posted by Norman John in Hands On, News, S60, S60 UI, Samsung, Symbian
The Samsung i450 is no news to anyone, but the actual review is a news for me. What impressed me the most is that the slide doesn’t work very well, atleast according to the guys at GSMArena, who reviewed the phone. The reason this is impressive is because the N95 is a dual slide device as well, and the slide also operates poorly, so I’m guessing this happens in dual slide phones.
The phone only has a 2 megapixel for those who aren’t aware of the specs, there is a 3.5mm jack, no GPS, and the phone is powered by Symbian OS9.2 with the S60 v3.1 UI. The Samsung has HSDPA.
Below are the main advantages and disadvantages of the i450:
Key features:
- Symbian OS 9.2, Series 60 v3.1 UI
- Dual slide design with unique Touch wheel key
- 2.4″ 256K color TFT LCD display with QVGA resolution
- 3G with HSDPA
- 3.5mm standard stereo audio jack
- microSD memory card slot reportedly accepting high-capacity cards
- FM radio with RDS
- Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP
Main Disadvantages:
- No WLAN
- Average display quality
- Mediocre camera
- No camera lens cover
- 3.5mm jack cannot be used for plugging a hands-free set
