Nokia E72 firmware update to v51 (changelog)

280138086 2a9b60da4d 172x300 Nokia E72 firmware update to v51 (changelog)The enterprise/business smartphone, Nokia E72, just got an upgrade firmware to v051.018 which brings changes and improvements in different services and whole phone functionalities. Firmware v51 offers fixes of your office applications to enhanced social network apps. And from the previous software v31 to v51, the  update is a big leap for S60v3 users in the range of Nokia E72.

You can update the phone’s fw through OTA (over-the-air), and NSU or Ovi Suite might followed these coming days. Although the E72 supports a User Data Preservation (UDP) it’s still recommended to back up all data before upgrading.

  • Stability and usability improvements
  • Menu layout changes, among other things:
    • Maps moved to Main menu from Applications – GPS folder
    • Help moved from Main menu to Applications folder
    • Main menu re-ordered
    • SW update moved from Phone folder to main level of Control panel folder.
    • Facebook, YouTube, MySpace, Bloomberg moved from Internet folder to Applications folder
  • No changes to vanilla memory cards
  • Altogether 450+ errors are fixed.

      ummm… hi sirs i don’t know where you get your false changelogs… but please in the future release factual information about the products/services/issues that you review. i can attest that 90% on this list is not true and maybe the 449+ bugfixes are also not true… here is MY change log:
      1) Smaller digital clock at the bottom of the screen
      2) Bug fix on Video recording was fixed (that’s why i said 449+)

      hi i’ve upgraded my e72 to 51.18 but a big problem that i cannot set the jar files on phone namely java doesn’work.in previous version there was no problem about java,is there anybody who is in same circumstance, i wonder if nokia will release new version soon

      i have updated to 051 too…
      I am facing a prob in messaging..
      The entire keypad gets while messaging…
      Sometimes it resolves bac to normal functionin in 2 or 3 mins on its own…
      otherwise i ve to restart th fone…

      Did anybody else face a similar prob…!?

      I have problem with my Calendar. When you write something on todo-list it’s sometimes disapears what you have been writing!

      Hi,

      It seems that with these update, my nokia become unstable and I need to reset few times.
      1. Keypad is unstable pressing J and # will appear during chatting in Nimbuzz
      2. My network is unstable and does not appear when the phone is not in the 3G connection area. My wife Iphone is more stable.
      3. Hang few times.
      4. Not much changes on the UI as the E5.

      Maybe this is my last nokia. I will be changing to either Iphone or android.

      So far i cant notice much of a change with the version update.
      But two things i noticed which i dont like after the update is :
      1) the clock at the bottom has got smaller font sixe now
      2) the keypad locks even when there are applications running..eg: while listening to music thru the music player the keypad autolocks after the fixed time..this is annoying..

      This updated did not fix some of my issue on my E72

      Video recording
      - jerking as it record. Before update it was smooth

      Key pad button V
      - when typing name on main, other alphabet shown no problem, when press V it was shown 7 instead

      Calculator
      - before the very 1st update, I can use decimal point… now after 2 update I still cannot use decimal point anymore……

      this is craps!!!!!!!
