Nokia E51: The perfect mid tier device

After having the N95, N82 and the E90 it was really different to use the Nokia E51, not only because of the low number. Other than the E90, N82 and the N95 the E51 doesn’t has a full list of killer features such as GPS, huge screen, high resolution Carl Zeiss camera or other things. Nevertheless, it is indeed a great device with a huge amount of fans. But why? I try to stress all the things making the E51 a great or even a perfect device.

Form factor:

Nokia E51: The perfect mid tier device
The E51 is really handy, thin and small which is nowadays pretty rare. Although its that small, it still puts an huge amount of features under its hood. So you can find following things under its hood:

  • WiFi
  • 2 Megapixel camera
  • Bluetooth
  • miniUSB
  • S60 3rd Edition FP 1
  • HSDPA

Look and feel:
With the E51 the folks from Espoo launched finally a device with a perfect built quality that looks nobly too. The glossy front with the back and edges made of steel causes a good built quality and a nobly and timeless look at the same time.

S60 3rd Edition FP 1:

S60 stands for entertainment, office and so on at the same time. So, the E51 can handle almost every task being mp3, internet, e-mail, SMS, VOIP, office, gaming… Furthermore, you can add a bunch of 3rd party applications which make the E51 even more powerful.

Two versions:
Since some company like VW don’t allow cameras or cameraphones for they employees more and more employees look for devices without cameras. The E51 is available in two version. Either the version with a camera or the version without. This is a big benefit for this awesome device.

Price:
With about 200€ the E51 isn’t that expensive and offers for this price class a bunch of things.

Verdict:

Nokia E51: The perfect mid tier device
In a nutshell, due to the good built quality, S60 as the platform, the cheap price, the sexy outfit and the features the E51 is more than just a secondary phone and is indeed a perfect mid tier device. What do you think about the E51? Would you give it a chance?
