Nokia E66: How strong is its battery
Posted by Norman John in Allgemein
The E66 has a strong 1000 mAh battery. However, it has also a big and bright screen. So, how strong is the BL-4U battery? To answer this question I’ve made a batterylog showing all operation( like music), time and the battery level. Before I started this batterylog, I charged the E66 the whole night, choose GSM as my network mode and set light sensor to middle. Besides I deactivate Bluetooth and WLAN scanning to save more power. At the beginning the E66 has 7 bars.

Verdict:
2 1/2 day of more or less hard using. As you can tell, I had just a few calls and text messages coming in. However, either than that you can see that the battery is really strong and fits really good in the concept of the E66, which is business but also multimedia oriented.

Well Normi, I think you mean July (07), not June (06) ! Wow! Impressive. But would have been different if 3G was on.

very useful post.
would like you to do a full review if you have time.
Nice battery “review”..
If you had time, it would be great if you tried the same with 3G on.
I have an E65, but I usually have to switch 3G off to get 3 days of battery use. If 3G is on, sometimes 1 day kills it (depending on the coverage).

With my E66 with NO wi-fi, no bluetooth, only gsm mode (no 3G), only 2 calls of 2 minutes, 5 sms, no playing music, no multimedia, only 26 hours of battery!
Why??????
yeah, mine too.. can only last for 34hrs. no wifi, no 3G, no multimedia playing or music via load speaker..
hm, thought of buying xtra battery with desktop charger..
any recommendation of any brand??
just want to add something. Mine can last for about 2 days max. Even if i hardly use my phone from a fully charge 7 bars in the morning 5 bars left in the afternoon. And i am slightly surf via wifi 3 bars left at night. I used to have sony ericsson that could last for more than 2 days with a lot of call (about 3 hours) .
i recently replaced my e65 with an e66 (there was an iPhone in between for a few weeks, but it was useless to me). i’m a heavy user but don’t make a lot of phone calls, ie, 3g is always on, i run mail for exchange, use it for remote access to servers over 802.11 and 3g (i work in IT), frequently tether to my laptop, and tend to use it for music for a couple of hours a day.
I have found that in both cases (the e65 and e66) the battery lasts me about 24 hours on a normal day, but that the level meter on the e66 seems to be a bit more realistic – it drops a bar every few hours at fairly regular intervals, where the e65 kept the full seven bars for about 12 hours and then lost them at an ever increasing rate, to the point where two bars means you have about half an hour…
i don’t think the battery is acceptable – a compromise i accept to have all its features in such a small, sleek package (as opposed to the iPhone, which was bigger, heavier, couldn’t do half the functions i need, and had only a reliable 8 hours between charges)… but i do wish it was better…
my first e-series phone was an e60, with the 850mAh, but i shoe-horned in the 1070mAh battery – i miss that phone, bit ugly, but the bl-6c in it made it a workhorse, and the hi-res screen was gorgeous!
ooops… left un- off acceptable… or added an ‘nt …
i don’t think the battery is unacceptable – a compromise i accept to have all its features in such a small, sleek package, but i do wish it was better…
2 and a half days is exactly what im getting on my new e66 in fact it died on me today and is on an overnight charge now, useless, ive come from a sony w800i, im on the phone all day and get an easy 3 and a half days and its never actually died on me. E66 way nicer ph but f**k is that frustrating!!!!
The battery of the E66 is just crappy ass !! I use my phone for just couple sms messages and a total call time about 30 min or max 1 hour. And all this is over in about 36 or max 48 hours
Just bought this phone 2 days ago. Honestly, i really disappointed with the battery life. It only stand for 1 1/2 days max in standby mode.
With my E66 with NO wi-fi, no bluetooth, only gsm mode (no 3G), only 2 calls of 2 minutes, 5 sms, no playing music,
