Nokia N96 already available in India?
Posted by Christian Titze in Feature Pack 2, N-Series, N96, News, Nokia, S60, Symbian
On my daily round through blogs and forums I came across the news that the new N96, which was introduced in February at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, is already available in India.
The Nokia 6220 Classic was also first launched in India before it came to Europe and the rest of the world.
So does Nokia repeat this strategy with the N96? To be honest I don’t know but if it is so, I guess we will get articles and first unboxing’s of the N96 from Indian bloggers in the next days, so stay tuned!

I look at it the same way as a few other members of the N95 forums. The Indians will be the beta testers for the n96 in a way, even if they don’t know it.
It’s actually only available for pre-order in india right now
Yes N96 is Officially launched in India but it will be available in retail outlets from Sept 1st week. Pricing is not yet confirmed but definitely in the range of $800-$900.
The ONLY reason for early launch is to spoil the party for Apple iPhone 3G which is Officially launching for the first time in India on 22nd Aug.
Service providers VODAFONE & AIRTEL in India announced a price of $720 for 8GB & $830 for 16GB iPhones. Though in Grey Market ‘UNLOCKED” / “JAIL-BROKEN” iPhone 8GB is avaiable for $500-$550.
iPhone is not comparable to the features of N96 or E90 Communicator which are by far most superior Smart Phones.

This is what happens when iphone tries talking to n96…
… what’s the fuss abt? i don’t know why ppl feel that the pre-booking of n96 has anything to do with iphone which lacks a lot of basic features even. i wud call it smart sales strategy..
