Nokia has released a new firmware for the Nokia N86 8MP taking it up to v20.115. You can update your device using FOTA (Firmware Over-The-Air) by simply typing *#0000# on your homescreen and selecting check for updates or via NSU (Nokia Software Updater). The update includes major camera improvements and various bug fixes. Although the Nokia N86 supports UDP (User Data Preservation), we still recommend you do a full backup to ensure you do not lose any data. As you all know I’ve had the Nokia N86 8MP for about a month now, and I’m currently working on the final part of the review. However today I want to share some of the interesting features I found regarding the built in motion sensor. A few well acknowledged features include the ability to auto-rotate the screen, use the device as a control during gaming, and of course, silence calls and snooze alarms, by simply flipping the device over during the alert. However, whilst browsing the internet on the N86 at night, I found a few nifty little features.

In Part One of the Nokia N86 8MP Review I focused on the hardware and build quality of the handset. Today I intend to delve deep inside the N86 exploring the software aspect of the device. Just to quickly recap, the Nokia N86 8MP is Nokia’s new flagship camera-phone. The device sports 8GB of built in storage as well as a microSD card slot, and has all the now ’standard’ features including Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS and a Digital Compass. Nokia is finally catching up in the megapixel race and have released an 8 megapixel smartphone, proudly crowned, the Nokia N86 8MP. When the N86 first surfaced at Mobile World Congress it arrived as the Nokia N85 8MP and for good reason in fact. It is pretty much an N85 with a few tweaks here and there, and of course, an 8 megapixel Carl Zeiss wide-angle lens with variable aperture. Nokia were quick to rename the device and the Nokia N86 8MP saw it’s release alongside the Nokia N97 earlier last month.
