During Nokia World 2009, rumours emerged stating that Nokia will not be attending Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona, nor will they launch any new devices during this event. However, it’s time to bring light into the dark. Indeed, Nokia will not have it’s own stand such as in the earlier years. Rather they set up a relaxing event that will take place a short walk from the Mobile World Congress at Once – home of the Spanish National Organization for the Blind. The goal of this event is to create an atmosphere designed to encourage conversations among industry peers. In this comfortable setting you will relax as you learn more about Nokia solutions and services. There is no doubt that we’ll see new devices as well. Read the rest of this entry »

Today I came across a new service called Vopium. Vopium reduces the costs of your international calls and international SMS. However, how does it work and is it really useful? Read more to get the answer.
How it works:
Vopium is free, there are no monthly fee, no call set-up charges, no hidden fees. When you make an international call, Vopium re-routes your call as a local call to a Vopium gateway and then via premium global traffic carriers to ensure top-notch voice quality. All you need to pay is your mobile provider for a local call and Vopium for the international add-on.

The E65 was announced in February 2007 at the 3GSM conference in Barcelona together with the E90 and the E61i.
It is Nokia’s first ESeries-device with a slider. Two weeks ago I received a trial-device from WOM World in the rare color “Soft Black” and today I want to share my thoughts and experiences about this device with you in this review.

The folks over at WOM World sent me a gold package a couple of days ago. The package contains a 1GB flash memory, Ovi stickers, a Barcelona postcard, a Nokia pen and a cool Barcelona keyring. Because I attended the Mobile World Congress with Nseries WOM World I received these really cool gifts.
More over, I’ve found this pretty cool video on the memory stick in which you can see the N96, N78, Ovi Share, Maps 2.0, N-Gage and also me.

This year’s Mobile World Congress is over, everybody is at home and looks forward to the Mobile World Congress in the next year. Thanks to WOM World I had the opportunity to attend the congress, meet a bunch of people and rock the S60 Party. For all those, who couldn’t attend, I want to recap these few days of my point of view. Anyway, pictures of the whole event you can find here.

After a lot of speculation for the Z12, the Z10 is the only official smartphone that Motorola managed to release in their Mobile World Congress line-up. With a 2.2” display portraying a QVGA resolution and 16m colours, and a satisfying 3.2megapixel camera with QVGA recording at 30fps, the Z10 could have been the perfect imaging phone, although it missed the 5 megapixel camera and VGA recording.

I decided that every device needed it’s fame moment, therefore I decided to write a little bit on pretty much every major phone we saw at the Mobile World Congress that ended in Barcelona on Thursday. Read the rest of this entry »

Reading the features will tell you exactly that, but does it really live to the competition?
Well it does have a GPS, HSDPA, Symbian OS9.2 S60 v3.1, and a full QWERTY keyboard. The camera is a bit disappointing, with only 2 megapixels of resolution, it stays behind the Nokia E90, but what is hidden beneath the clamshell is the beautiful VGA resolution display.
If the phone isn’t released too late, it won’t make a difference that it lacks of a touchscreen or it only has 64MB on internal memory, although a memory card can be added.
On the design size, it looks like a very old phone, especially if you look at the keys, and I was expecting the display atleast a bit bigger.

This is one piece of hardware that was long discussed and really criticized, so someone was clever enough to actually test the LED and show its power…or lack of it.
The Nokia N96 features a Dual LED flash instead of the loved Xenon. The excuse that Nokia Product Managers presented is that Xenon lights can only be activate for a second, where the LEDs can be active during the whole of the video capture session. Last night I saw a Mercedes, and it came to my mind that some cars use Xenon headlights, which are lit for long periods of time, so why couldn’t this technology be incorporated in phones?
Enjoy the video…
