The Nokia N97 Mini has a 5 Megapixel Camera with autofocus and a Carl Zeiss lens. This sounds indeed really promising and thus I’ve managed some prototype samples photos to see the quality. The sharpness is good but the colour, for example of the lawn or the flowers, is to pale and not fresh enough. As a reminder, these photos are from Nokia N97 Mini’s that are not running final firmware. I expect to see improvements before they become available later this year.

Today, at Anssi Vanjoki’s keynote the Nokia N97 Mini has been announced officially. After a couple of leaked pictures came up the N97 Mini has come to the official press light. The little N97 is almost as powerfull as its big brother. Having the full QWERTY-keyboad and the tilted 3.2-inch touch screen it comes pretty close to the N97. More over, it features 8GB internal memory and a unprotected 5 Megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens. A focus lies also on navigation and social communication. Both areas have been merged to a new user experience in which Nokia Maps and Facebook work hand in hand. Nokia calls the N97 mini the slimmest travel companion on the market.
